Rockstar has not officially announced the GTA 6 unlock time. Most reports based on PlayStation Store listings put the UK at midnight GMT (00:00) on 19 November 2026, though one outlet reported a different time. Treat it as provisional.
Key takeaways
- Official time: none announced by Rockstar.
- Reported UK time: 00:00 GMT on 19 November 2026, from PlayStation Store data.
- Conflicts: one outlet reported 08:00 for the UK and another reported a single global time. Most disagree with both.
- Xbox: Microsoft had not published a region-by-region schedule in the reports we found.
- UK is in GMT in November, so there is no daylight-saving adjustment.
When does GTA 6 unlock in the UK?
The date is confirmed as 19 November 2026. The hour is not. Rockstar Games has not stated an official unlock time. The figures in circulation come from PlayStation 5 digital store listings, which several outlets read and published.
Most reports say the UK and Ireland unlock at 00:00 GMT on 19 November, which is the first moment of that day for UK players. In November the UK is on GMT (UTC+0), so GMT and UTC are the same.
Reported regional unlock times
| Region | Reported unlock | Status |
|---|---|---|
| United Kingdom / Ireland | 00:00 GMT, 19 November | Reported |
| Mainland Europe (CET) | 00:00 CET, which is 23:00 UTC on 18 November | Reported |
| New Zealand | 00:00 NZDT, which is 11:00 UTC on 18 November | Reported |
| US and Canada (reported window) | 05:00 UTC on 19 November, which is 00:00 US Eastern | Reported |
These come from PlayStation Store listings only. They could change before launch, and none comes from a Rockstar announcement.
Why do sources disagree?
One outlet reported 08:00 for the UK, and another reported a single global time of 05:00 UTC. A third gave 10:00 as a projection rather than a listing. We have not used those figures, because they conflict with the store-listing data most reports agree on. If Rockstar publishes an official schedule, we will replace this page's table with it and date the change.
What time will GTA 6 unlock on Xbox?
The reports we found covered PS5 listings. Microsoft had not published an equivalent schedule for Xbox Series X|S. Console makers often align launch times, but do not assume Xbox matches PlayStation until it is published.
How to be ready at midnight
- Preload first. Digital preloading is reported to start on 12 November. See the release date hub.
- Check your pre-order. Open your console library a day early and confirm the game shows as ready.
- Expect busy servers. Launch-night traffic can slow sign-in and downloads, so patience helps.
- Do not trust "early unlock" offers. They are scams. See GTA 6 scam warning.
