How to prepare your storage
- Check how much free space your PS5 or Xbox has now.
- Delete or archive games you do not play. You can usually re-download them later.
- Consider an SSD upgrade, but wait until the official size appears so you do not overbuy.
- Keep extra room for the day-one patch and future updates.
How long will the download take?
That depends on the final size and your broadband. As a rough guide, a 200GB download at 100 Mbps takes about 4.5 hours, and at 50 Mbps about 9 hours, if your connection runs at full speed. The calculation is size in gigabytes times 8,000, divided by your speed in megabits per second, giving seconds. Real speeds vary, so allow extra time and preload as early as you can. We will add a download-time calculator once an official size exists.
Digital or physical, same download
Reports say physical copies hold a code, so both formats need the full download. See digital vs physical.
